Welcome Letter
On behalf of Wayland Boosters, Welcome to the Inaugural Wayland High School Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. This idea was born well over a year ago and with the help of some dedicated volunteers we are here tonight to honor 16 individuals whose place in Wayland athletic history is now secure. I would like to personally thank the committee who put this evening together. Chairman George Doran, members
Connie Burgess, Colleen Cappelucci, Chris Jenny, Susan Foster, Asa Foster, Rick Smith of the Wayland Town Crier, Former Wayland Athletic Director Rick Moyer, Long Time Wayland Coach Bill Snow, Athletic Director Martha Jamieson, and Athletic Trainer Chris Brown.
The Wayland Boosters is an all volunteer organization whose mission is to further the athletic experience at the High School by raising money to do such project as new scoreboards at the High School, Varsity Jackets which number in the hundreds every year and our current project which is spearheading an effort to place a synthetic turf field at the High School. Tonight’s event is just another example of how Boosters is trying to again recognize and support the greatness of Wayland Athletics while doing it in a community setting.
Thanks go out to Sandy Burr for their generosity in allowing the use of their facility and to Nike for their generous donation in honor of inductee Alberto Salazar.
